Bejeweled 3 Review
Bejeweled is a very well known gem matching puzzle game and here it is again on XBLA for its third instalment.

Bejeweled 3 is everything you know from previous Bejeweled titles but with added game modes. Original, Lightening, Quest, Zen, Poker, and Ice Storm.

Game modes

Original is…..Well the mode we all know. Match gems and rack up a high score.
Lightening Mode.. You are required to match gems as quickly as possible to charge up a bonus for extra time at the end of the game.
Quest mode… A set of 40 challenges that consists of all game mode types that increase in difficulty.
Zen mode… A relaxing mode where the game is endless. You can set ambient sounds for background noise such as forest leaves, ocean waves and waterfall. You can also set a breathing timer so that you can concentrate on relaxing through breathing exercises.
Poker… You play ten hands consisting of four cards and the idea is to get as many of the same colour gems matched for huge bonus points.
Ice Storm… Match gems before the Ice reaches the top of the grid of it’s game over.

Bejeweled as you can see has brought a load of game modes most of which are great fun. The controls are exactly as I wanted them to be, click the gem and choose the direction that you want the gem to go, none of the rotation rubbish that was in the last.
One thing that I ‘am surprised at is the lack of multiplayer. I don’t know why but Pop cap rarely add online multiplayer which I always think is a bad move.
Overall the game is what you want from a Bejeweled, Bright and beautiful colours and the itch to better your score. Big fans will buy Bejeweled 3 without question, but for those that are not too bothered, wait for a price drop because 1200MSP is far too much for a game that does not offer MP.
7/10
