Crazy Machines Elements Review
Crazy Machines Elements is a Physics based puzzle game using everyday objects as well as the elements Water, Fire and Wind. There are three game modes to keep you busy and thinking, Puzzle, Challenges and Editor.
Puzzle mode requires you to solve 100 puzzles using objects in your inventory to create chain reactions.
Challenges are not unlocked for me yet, but by the looks of it you have to complete hard puzzles within a limited amount of time.
Editor where you can create your very own puzzles using whatever you like.
I had a lot of fun playing puzzle mode because it was very challenging. Although the game slowly introduces you to each object and the way it works alone and with others, you will often find yourself totally clueless as to what you need to do. It is not frustrating in these situations because you know it can be done, you just need to think outside of the box a little. Due to the games difficulty, at the end of a challenge you feel a sense of achievement and relief.
You can start and stop the chain reaction whenever you like giving you the ability to see what happens before you start putting your objects into the mix or after you have placed them to see what sort of reactions you get. Hovering your cursor over parts give you details on what they do and what happens to them in certain situations. This is very useful and helps stop the pain and confusion.
Controls are very simple and well placed to the controller buttons, the music is the cheesy stuff you would expect from a nutty professor thinking game and the game graphics and colours are very nice and solid.
There are two let downs. The loading screens are quite long and boring and then there is the ability to wipe all your placed objects off of the screen. A long and unnecessary series of actions which is a slow process when it could have been a simple 1 button action. This might not sound like much but if you play the game you will see what I mean.
Overall the game was great fun and is well worth the 800msp price tag so go check it out!!!
