SkyDrift Review
Sky Drift the answer if you want airplanes, Mario kart and Blur all in one. With 6 unique tracks that can also be played in reverse and 8 customizable planes there is fun to be had.
Sky Drift gives the player adrenaline, tension filled competitive fun both online and offline. With environmental obstructions and power ups to collect, the race to the finish line is tough.
Power ups are collected as they are in Mario Kart and Blur so just fly through them and they are yours to use BUT….. you can only carry two at a time so choose wisely.
Allowing the player to upgrade one of the already selected power ups is a great addition. Just fly through an already collected power up the next time you see it and you have double the firepower, double the shield time and definitely double the fun.
Having seven other players in the game that want to place first, can get messy. Miss a power up and you will be sitting in your chair praying that those following you did not see your mistake and take the opportunity to punish you for it.
Whilst flying around, dodging enemies and collecting weapons, health and upgrades you are also put to the test in successfully flying the track smoothly. With tight turns, tunnels and beautiful sights in your way, trying to wipe everyone out and getting ahead is tough.
At the end of a game whether it be single or multiplayer, if you win or lose you deserved it. The controls are solid and switching between power ups and boosting is easy and fluid so any faults or misses is totally you.
Digital Reality really pulled this one off and should be praised for their hard work. There is loads of re-playability and surely DLC in the future. Go buy this game NOW!!!
