Trine 2 Review
Trine 2 is a physics based puzzle plat-former. Set in a magical fantasy world, once again the help of 3 heroes is needed.
You take control of up to 3 characters which each hold the powers needed to complete each level.

Pontius is a knight that has skills in Blade, Shield and hammer, Zora is a thief that wields a bow and grapple hook giving her the ability to move very quickly around each area and finally Amadeus, a wizard who uses his powers of manipulation in order to navigate through the challenging mystical world.
Trine 2 supports online and offline co-op which is great if you don’t want to keep switching characters but bad because the puzzles are better made for one set of eyes only.

The visuals in Trine 2 are so beautiful I wanted to take screen shots and put them up around my house. Trine 2 is colourful, soft and full of pastel shades I honestly didn’t move for a short while just so I could take in the full force of what I was seeing.

Controls are pretty good and won’t take long to get used to but, jumping sometimes annoyed me. On the odd occasion I would be trying to jump to a platform and miss because I could not grab the edge or my toe just clipped it. This is a minor annoyance and is easily forgotten once you stop and look at the pretty surroundings.

Anyway… The idea is to finish each level by whatever means necessary and this usually means using more than one character and their abilities. Physics is what it's all about in Trine 2 and yes it is a challenge at times. Obstructions are at times hard to work out even though you know you are limited with your characters abilities, but stop for a bit, have a think and it should not take too long for you to continue your quest.

Trine 2 does not offer much help in the hint and tuition department so really you're on your own.

Combat feels a little pointless. Every so often you will see a few goblins, switch to Pontius, hack the enemy up and switch back to another character. Fighting does not last long and is just a distraction with absolutely no meaning behind it.

Even though it has co-op, Trine 2 is a single player game. If you want a physics based plat-former Trine 2 is for you but if you want a solid co op experience you should leave this one out or download the trial first.
