Zuma’s Revenge Review

Zuma is a puzzle game brought to you by Popcap Games.

For those of you unfamiliar with Zuma, it is a game where you have to match 3 of the same colour balls in order to eliminate them balls.  You are a stationary frog that can rotate and later in the levels move lily pads.

The balls move along a specific route and try to make their way to the escape.  If the balls are able to escape, it’s game over!

Zuma’s revenge offers a total revamp graphically and honestly they do look great,  new power ups and a few new game modes.  Even though Zuma’s Revenge is very similar to the previous Zuma games those that are fans will gladly welcome some more of the puzzle game.

A great new addition to Zuma is boss battles at the end of each area.  Balls will be blocking you from being able to shoot the boss but remove some of them balls and you might have a gap big enough to kill the big enemy.  I like this new feature because it gives you a break from the rinse and repeat gameplay that Zuma consists of.

Whilst playing Zuma’s Revenge you will earn money.  The money you earn can be used in an RPG kind of way.  “Spirit Animal” companions can be purchased in stages of 10%, 20%, 30% etc and depending on the animal you might shoot faster, gain more points through shooting fruit and so on.  Animals help a lot in the harder levels.

Finish the story and you will unlock boss battle mode and high difficulty mode.  Both are great fun and is a nice way to carry on getting some Zuma love.

If you’re a fan of the greatness that Popcap always seem to bring buy Zuma’s Revenge

8/10
